Rainbow is a “Sentinel of Light” - a guardian of light and color endowed with magical powers to protect Rainbowland and bring color to all the corners of the universe. A girl of indeterminable age, perhaps 8 or 9 years old. Old enough to ride a horse on rainbows, but young enough to think that’s THE COOLEST THING EVER!

A regular kid who found a strange rainbow-key which instantly launched him onto a giant rainbow and found himself in Rainbowland. He’s trying to keep his head down and be as ordinary as possible while figuring out a way to get home. The last thing he wants is to rock the boat... which is rough when Rainbow Brite has decided you are Extra special and takenyou on as her personal project.

Rainbow Brite’s talking stallion, mentor, and primary mode of transportation. But save the Mr. Ed comparisons – Starlite is not your average horse. With a mane of many colors and a vocabulary that surpasses the stodgiest of English professors, Starlite is the most magnificent creature in all of Rainbow Land, and never misses an opportunity to remind you of that.

Fun, excitable, curious, adventurous and most important of all... über-huggable, Mr. Glitters is the leader of the Sprites and Rainbow Brite’s Sprite. He speaks in Sprite language that’s equally adorable, but understands English perfectly. He’s always there to pick you up if you’re feeling blue or need a cute non-sequitor, and in action he may not look like much, but underestimate him and you may just get glitter-bombed.

A dark, sinister, manipulative and powerful foe to Rainbowland and Rainbow Brite. She hails form a dark planet and is constantly obsessed with controlling all the light in the universe. She detests everything Rainbow Brite stands for and will stop at nothing to turn her friends against her. She has a deep love for power and worship - accompanied by a vain nature, a dark but wity sense of humor, and is constantly obsessed with controling all the light, color and darkness in the universe.

Stormy is another Sentinel of Light to Rainbowland, the power of thunder, lightning, in addition to rain, hail and snow. Stormy went through a little bit of a tiff recently with Rainbow, which made her question her friendship, which made her the perfect target for an ally with Dark Princess’ evil plan. Stormy can be a little insecure, frustrated and fragile at times, but it’s only because she has such a good heart.

Lurky is a fuzzy animal-like creature who linked up with Murky Dismal years before. A big, brute of a creature, he looks like a force to be reckoned with … till you realize he’s sweet as sugar. Murky is an evil scientist who lacks the conviction and common sense to be a real threat; as a result, he’s a henchman to The Dark Princess. He’s the kind of guy who gravitates to bad people doing bad things.

A macho-smooth talker whose mouth is always getting him into trouble. Believes in himself and everyone around him to a fault.

Mischievous and a bit of a know-it-all. Patty was geek before it was chic, and she keeps telling everyone that “Nerd” is a come back in a big way.

Athletic and smart, an all-around good guy. Buddy’s always trying to push his own limits and reach new highs. Holds the Rainbow Land record for most extreme skateboard kick flip…and most bones broken.

Has a flare for the dramatic. She’s constantly putting herself in other people’s shoes, perhaps a little too well. She has a tendency to over-exaggerate things (every untied shoelace is the BIGGEST. CRISIS. EVER.)

A fashion-oriented type-A personality who often finds herself at odds with Rainbow Brite but always defers to her. Lala always wants everything and everyone to be perfectly fabulous, which can make her a little judgy and abrasive at times.

A bright personality who’s a bit … out there. She’s endlessly faithful to her friends and is always the first one to sign up for whatever new crazy plan they’ve got brewing. The Andy Dwyer to Rainbow’s Leslie Knope.

Shy as her name suggests, Violet never raises a fuss. She always supports the other color kids. Even if it’s to her own detriment, she’s always first in line to help others. No one would guess that this quiet young girl has also got a secret alter ego, the mysterious PURPLE PROTECTOR, an action-junky crime fighter who lurks in the shadows, helping others while never sticking around to take credit.
